Holy Apostles Men’s Group
Our Men’s Group dinners are on the first Monday night 6:30 p.m. each month (except on holiday weekends, when we move to the first Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. These dinners are open to all men of the church and their guests, including all visitors. We average 15 to 18 attendees at each meeting, with ages ranging from 18 to 90 years old. Understanding we have young families, and sometimes the wife works nights or evenings, we encourage fathers of infants to bring their children. There are enough grandfathers to pass these children around. We will explore a nursery worker for the evening as this need grows.
We make an effort to tell every visiting family about our Men’s group and extend an invitation. We also ask these folks for their E-mail address and if they would like to be sent a “reminder / invitation.” (Some have asked to be dropped from the list; they are always removed promptly.)
We start at 6:00 p.m., serve dinner at 6:30, and leave at 8:30. Our dinner and meeting is casual. While there is a format to the evening generally there is no “program”; it’s about getting to know each other. We open with Prayer, asking our men to remember their fellow men in their prayers. We also do not ask for money or pass the hat for the evening. Whoever cooks funds the dinner. We discuss current issues or items of interest.
